ISS and RMC at Microscience 2010
On the ISS booth (M10) RMC will be demonstrating advanced sample preparation solutions for TEM, SEM and AFM applications. The systems on show will be:
The PT-PC, computer controlled PowerTome ultramicrotome, capable of producing ultra thin and semi thin sections of a wide variety of materials over the range from just a few nanometers to 15 microns in thickness. Features include full PC control with fast 2.5GHz processor, state of the art 15" touchscreen LCD color monitor/controller, video camera with image displayed on the 15" LCD color monitor supplied as standard - an ideal solution for today's sophisticated nanotechnology research or teaching facility.
The CR-X, Liquid Nitrogen cooled cryosectioning system, for sectioning polymers and biological specimens over the range from +35C to -180C.
Perfectly set-up for the 'Cryo Wet' sectioning method the CR-X boasts the lowest LN consumption of any cryosectioning system with features
including: heated cryochamber walls and LN transfer line for frost free operation; Fast set-up without tools or fixtures; Universally compatible with all brands of modern ultramicrotome, options include - grid holding device, chamber de-ionizer and side entry port for cryotransfer holder
The GKM-2 Glass Knife Maker with 'Unique' built-in load cell and digital display to take the 'guesswork' out of making high quality glass knives up to 12mm width. Features include precision micrometers for reproducible positioning of glass square for final score and flip down mechanical stops to position the glass strip for 'balanced breaking'
The QG-3100 Automated programmable TEM grid stainer for staining biological specimens with heavy metal salts such as uranyl acetate and lead citrate. Stain up to 40 grids per run avoiding the hazards associated with manual staining. Features include: large touch screen controller and electro-magnetic 'pinch' valves avoiding any contact between heavy metal stains and metallic parts associated with most other valves.
